Baden is a highly accomplished barrister and Director of Omega Chambers who offers over two decades of expertise defending clients against serious criminal charges and regulatory offences. Renowned for his success in complex jury trials — spanning murder, drug importation, and grave violent crimes — Baden blends sharp legal insight with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach. Valentina practises across a broad range of criminal matters, with a particular interest in appellate advocacy. She has worked on appeals at both High Court and Court of Appeal level, and is drawn to appellate work for its capacity to shape the law, rather than simply apply it. Valentina considers it critical that the judgments relied upon in everyday courtrooms are principled, accurate, and fair, given their ongoing influence on judicial decision-making across New Zealand. She is known for her composed and analytical approach, clarity of thought, and strong commitment to careful, strategic advocacy.
Tameka practises across a wide range of criminal matters, and has a particular interest in sexual offending cases, recognising the heightened sensitivity and seriousness they involve. She approaches these matters with exceptional care and precision and works diligently to achieve the best possible outcome in often high-stakes circumstances. A perfectionist by nature, she is deeply committed to her clients and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every case is handled to the highest possible standard.
Emelia is a law clerk at Omega Chambers and is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Waikato. She holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice and brings prior experience from the Department of Corrections, where she worked as a Probation Officer. Emelia works closely alongside Counsel across a wide range of matters, playing an active role in the day-to-day management of proceedings and the careful coordination of client files. She approaches her work with initiative and professionalism, is highly organised, and is trusted for her strong client engagement and reliability in fast-moving and demanding cases.
